Cheval Three Quays

To celebrate my 4th barkday I was treated by Cheval Three Quays to an exceptional present: a chance to show le best of dog welcoming in the heart of the city I call home. A lavish one-night #corguide stay overlooking The Thames, with breathtaking views of Tower Bridge, City Hall, HMS Belfast and The Shard.

Le Residence

Cheval Residences offer luxury serviced apartments for short and extended stays in several locations across London. The company takes its name from Cheval Place in Knightsbridge, where the first residence opened in 1982.

With the Tower of London for prestigious next-door neighbour, Cheval Three Quays opened in the Spring of 2014. A short stroll from the City of London and Brick Lane, the residence is only 5 minutes away from Tower Hill Underground Station and situated near a number of restaurants, cafés and bars. It features a state-of-the-art fitness room and free Wi-Fi.

Each of the spacious apartments is designed with clever lighting, beautiful décor, an open-plan kitchen and living room, flat screen TVs and iPod docks. Also provided ate a Nespresso coffee machine, dishwasher, microwave and, my favourite features: a mobile phone for use during your stay (so you can place phone calls or browse the internet – I used it to call my friend Jasper Islington in the USA).

As we entered the reception of the residence, which is open 24-hrs, we received a warm welcome from the members of the team present, including some cuddles for moi. The concierge then whisked us to our apartment for the night, on the fifth floor.

Le Apartment

As we entered the apartment, a Deluxe Two Bedroom – River View, the humans were startled by the most impressive of its features: the most magnificent London view they had ever seen (Maman later struggled to stop looking at it and ended not sleeping much).

We were given a tour of the facilities, which include open plan living area, fully fitted Dada kitchen, oversized floor to ceiling windows and two private balconies. The immaculate and very modern, tastefully decorated apartment sleeps 4. The Master bedroom boasts a luxurious king size bed and en-suite bathroom with a large walk-in shower (with Hermès toiletries), whilst the extra bedrooms with twin beds can be made into a double bed if required. A family bathroom with large bath tub and overhead shower sits off the main hallway, and there is even a washing machine and dryer.

Four and two-legged friends are treated royally at Cheval Three Quays: on the breakfast bar sat two hampers: one for me, with Lily's Kitchen treats and food, and one for the humans. I also found a comfortable dog bed and two bowls waiting to be filled in the living area.

As it was my birthday I was chuffed to also find a birthday card signed by the entire team (what a sweet touch), and some pretty colourful balloons. I was treated to dinner and breakfast on the balcony, with views to die for.

The apartment featured personalised notes throughout: one to welcome us, one explaining how to access the Wi-Fi, one with some more toiletries by The White Company (including a face moisturiser for humans).

My friend Bertie and myself had an amazing night at Cheval Three Quays. Us and humans decided to wake up to see the sun rise over Tower Bridge and, whilst it hid behind thick clouds that morning, it meant we were able to enjoy the breathtaking view for a few more hours.

Sadly all good things come to an end (too soon), and so upon checking out the concierge came back upstairs to help us with our luggage (and dish out more cuddles). We left Cheval Three Quays with stars in our heads and some unforgettable souvenirs of what is literally the best view we’ve had of London so far, in outstanding settings.
