Bussey Building, Peckham, South London
The Rooftop Film Club has four venues in London, and others in New York City and Los Angeles. The screenings take place in the open air, and they are open from late Spring until early Autumn (end April to early October).
Maman and Papa love cinema (Maman used to write film reviews back in France). They have been to the Peckham venue before, sans moi, and loved the experience. So we all got really REALLY excited when heard that they started welcoming dogs in the Summer of 2016. And I finally got to put the experience to #LeTest for you, a week ago!
The film starts at sunset and food and drinks are available at the bar for those who wish to enjoy the stunning view over London, take some photos, or be there on time to grab their preferred seat(s) - though we personally found all seats are great! Unless the weather is particularly awful, the screening takes place even in the rain (we were lucky enough not to get any).
The humans watched Moonlight, a timeless, beautifully pictured story of human connection and self-discovery whilst I was a good and quiet boy and napped in the middle of the alley (just in case a human would trip over moi whilst carrying snacks or anyone had cuddles to spare ;b) for most of the film.
The three of us loved it and will definitely go back in the Summer! #LeCorgiApproved
although the sound is via headphones, just so that noise nuisance is reduced, we'd probably not recommend the experience for a dog that needs constant attention and is barky or struggles to settle in a new place.
bring your own bowl and water, and treats (human treats and refreshments available to purchase on the spot)
British Summer nights can get chilly so ask for a blanket when getting your headphones
use the lift to go up unless you're ready to go up quite a few steps or plan to eat the delicious hot dogs!
book early to avoid disappointment, a lot of films sell out before the night!
Super friendly and fun staff (bar and cinema), security present
Iconic films and new releases
Wireless headphones so you don't get disturbed by the guy sat next to you eating popcorn
The panoramic view over London and the magic sunsets
Comfy deckchairs with adjustable height
Blankets available for those chilly British Summer nights
